Not sure if it’s good etiquette to write your first post about the site on which the post appears… but this isn’t a blog about etiquette.
For your viewing pleasure
Welcome to the new sharetheboard.com! It’s been a long time coming and, for those of you who’ve been with us for a while, a sight for sore eyes.
We just wanted to take a moment and anonymously thank everyone who contributed to the launch of the new site. Many, many days have been poured into the site’s design, engineering, content, and just about everything else. We’re grateful, we’re proud, and we hope it serves you well.
Some pages/sections have come out particularly well. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to visit the new Product Features page – it’s super-dense! It wasn’t until we started putting this page together that we fully appreciated how many features we’ve delivered over the years. Very impressive, if we say so ourselves.
The page is long and chock-full of videos and pictures demonstrating key STB functionality. It actually doesn’t include everything but, in all honesty, it’s probably too long as is. Likely this page will evolve into a full on section. For now, enjoy it’s long, colorful splendor.

Another feature worth calling out are the various illustrations peppered throughout the site. If these look like whiteboard scribbles, it’s because they are!
We believe in eating our own dog food, as they say though, to be honest, we didn’t think of this particular use case right away. In retrospect, however, it’s a perfect fit. Many of the illustrations fit the subject matter perfectly and attempting to design a “whiteboard-like” look would be categorically more time consuming. As it is, we simply pointed our camera at the board and scribbled away.
Megaphone
You know, the cheerleader-esque one
Gears
Surprisingly tricky to draw!
What came in handy here – even more than the precision of detection – is the fact that ShareTheBoard vectorizes all the content it identifies in real time. This makes adjusting any saved content an absolute breeze. Let’s just say it’s a lot easier to hit that on-brand blue with a hex number than a marker.
If you haven’t had the chance to try this particular application of ShareTheBoard, we highly recommend it. Many of us deny having any artistic ability but feel comfortable doodling on a whiteboard. Well now those doodles can be easily continued/adjusted in the digital realm, thanks to their status as editable vector graphics.
More to come
What you see is, of course, only the beginning. Yes, the Features page as a big leap forward from the previous version which… did not exist. But we still have many questions to answer, many roles to support, many integrations to highlight.
The Resources area – including this blog, the FAQ section and (we hope) the News/Awards section – will be getting a lot more attention in the coming weeks. We have a few very exciting announcements and we look forward to sharing them with you.
And, of course, if there’s anything you’d like to see more (or less) of, please don’t hesitate to share your feedback. We look forward to hearing from you!
